Gibson Arena

Gibson’s was started in 1940 by Earl & Mildred Gibson (Ann Sheridan’s mom & dad). Gibson Arena was originally constructed as an ice skating rink. They could convert to a roller skating rink when there was no ice on the floor. The rink was converted solely to roller skating in 1949. Back in the day when there was still an Ice Plant on the property they also produced what many locals still proclaim to be the best ice cream they ever consumed. George & Ann Sheridan purchased the rink in 1969 from Ann’s parents and continued the family owned tradition. In 1979, they purchased an additional skating rink in New Castle to expand the family fun. As time moved on and their children grew up, Beth married Mark Griffith and they continue to manage the New Castle rink. Tom Sheridan now runs the day-to-day operations of the Muncie rink and also keeps the music playing during school parties & public sessions. Hull Brothers Inc

John Hull started working in the farm equipment business in the year of 1896. John died in 1934 and in the same year, Norman Hull (John’s son) and Manuel Hull became partners. Norman Hull thus became the second generation in the business. Manuel Hull died in 1941 and Norman Hull became the sole owner of the company. In 1951 Richard Hull (Norman’s second oldest son) became the third generation in the business. Norman Hull Jr. (Norman’s youngest son, also known as “Buzz”) joined the business in 1960. Hull Brothers was incorporated in 1966. Norman Sr. died in 1974 and Richard and Buzz continued the corporation until their retirements.Fourth Generation (Buzz’s sons) Tom Hull and Bob Hull took over the business with Paul Evans (Richard’s son in law); Tom passed away in 2009. Shortly after, Tom’s wife Jill joined the business. In 2013 Paul and his family left the business and Buzz’s son Dave Hull joined the business with Bob and Jill. Randy Evans (Richard’s grandson) is our full time AFS technician and IT Technical support. Cole Hull (Tom & Jill’s son) and Lane Hull (Dave’s son) are also working in the business. [read more]
