The Twelve Months of Christmas came about in a strange way. In 2002, my husband, Randy and I went to Las Vegas. As we were going to the hotel, I noticed a panel truck with “Jones Christmas Shop” on it. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I looked their number up in the phone book and gave them a call. During a break in gaming, I took some time to visit their shop. And visit the shop I did! I spent 4 hours browsing and upon leaving the store I thanked the owners and told them how much I enjoyed seeing all of their decorations. They told me that if I liked their shop, I should go to Atlanta and visit Americas-Mart where buyers order Christmas merchandise for their stores. I made the trip to Atlanta and it was like dying and going to Heaven. While in the MeraVic Showroom, a rep got an order form out. I told her I wasn't going to order anything and that I was just looking. Apparently Lisa was an extremely good sales rep because I placed a substantial order for a non-existing business. And that is how The Twelve Months of Christmas came to be. With my passion for Christmas and decorating, and Randy's love of construction, we have built a thriving business that brings joy not only to us but to all who enter our Christmas Store. From our first year in a 2,000 square foot building to the current 13,000 square foot building, we continually work on improving our building and the displays within. [read more]

In 2013, a group of animal loving volunteers recognized there was a greater need than what our area was able to offer. They came together to form an all volunteer group, and Midwest Pet Refuge was formed. In 2014 MPR was incorporated, and by 2015 MPR was officially determined a tax exempt 501(c)3 non profit with a full board of directors. We rely on volunteers, fosters, supporters, and donors to operate. As a completely volunteer run organization with no large scale facility, we have had to utilize the help of foster homes to house most of our animals in the past. We do not discriminate between fins, feathers, fur or even scales, and if we can help an animal on to a better life, we will! MPR tries hard to help any animal in need in some way, whether it be networking, transporting, needed vetting, fostering or even advice; however actual admissions are often limited due to space constraints. In 2016 the idea of Cat Tales Bookstore was born. It has been a wonderful resource for MPR. Cat Tales not only serves as a place the community can find excellent used books, but also as an adoption center for many of the cats we have available. Concannon's Pastry Shop was established in 1959 by J. Michael and Wanda Concannon on Charles Street in downtown Muncie, Indiana. In 1978 we built a new facility at 620 N. Walnut Street and moved in. Since then -- thanks to a great response from customers like you -- we have remodeled and added square footage at least four times at that location. In 1978, Michael T. Concannon purchased the business from his parents. Concannon's is truly a rare family business, with the third generation now heavily involved. Marc Concannon is a trained baker and oversees all candy, popcorn and coffee production. We have diversified the bakery to include our gourmet popcorns, our house-roasted coffees and our own line of fine chocolates. In 2009 we opened our Bakery Café at 4801 W. Baker Lane on the north side of Muncie. Like our original shop, it has been enlarged due to customer demand as well. This shop showcases our full line of bakery products and is also home to our deli and coffee bar.
