Early in 1958, John & Sarah Mast hurried to the home of their friends, Harley & Mary Miller, to tell them the small orchard in Nappanee would be coming up for sale. So excited to see the property, Harley & Mary hopped in John’s buggy and told them “there is no time to waste hitching up my horse---we need to see it now!” Shortly thereafter Harley & Mary would go on to purchase the orchard. In 1958, Miller’s Orchard was formed. A modest orchard situated within the city limits of Nappanee, Indiana. Over the next six decades, Harley & Mary would go on to perfect their famous homemade Amish Apple Butter™ and fresh pressed unpasteurized cider.
